The Port of Barrow-in-furness


The old shipbuilding port of Barrow in Furness is the strangest of places. 45 miles from the M6 Motorway there is no other major towns for miles around but alas the town has built some fine merchant ships but today focuses on Naval Vessels. The following images were taken on a visit to the port on 10th July 2010 - The weather pretty much sums the place up.

Whitby May 2009








The Duke of Lancaster continues to lie empty and seemingly abandoned on the North Wales Coast - my last visit on 3rd May saw the ship heavily fortified by danger our razor wire fencing and highly threatening notices as can be seen in the images below
